Aladdin Celebrates Black History Month: Culture Through Culinary

February marked Black History Month, a time to honor and celebrate a rich culinary culture. Many colleges and universities where food is managed by Aladdin Campus Dining created authentic foods including Chef James Chupp of Bowie State University, a historically black university (HBCU) in Prince George’s County, Maryland.  Chef James created a dish celebrating contributions to Southern cuisines. The menu featured Smothered & Seasoned Turkey Wings, Dirty Rice, and Granny’s Green Beans. Food has always been a powerful way to commemorate history, bringing people together through shared traditions and flavors.

Aladdin understands the culture of an HBCU campus community.   Our customized dining programs offer something for everyone – providing a hospitality experience where students feel inspired and have the opportunitiy to learn about culture through culinary!
