Waynesburg, PA. (March 2, 2020) —With a proven record of success in increasing board plan participation and retail dining opportunities, Aladdin was awarded an extension on its food and beverage contract at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA.   Aladdin, a specialist in higher education dining, will add top, national retail brands that are popular with students, continue to enhance the food experience, as well as offer its first 24-7mini convenience store.

Aladdin, a part of the Elior North America family of culinary management companies, was first awarded Waynesburg’s food service contract in 2001 to bring exciting dining venues, quality fresh food and a high level of creativity to campus dining.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Aladdin,” said Dr. Shari Payne, vice president for enrollment at Waynesburg University.  “They uphold the highest standards in food service and are dedicated to setting dining trends that are transforming higher education to accommodate the tastes of today’s college students.”

As part of its exciting future additions, Aladdin will renovate the existing Starbucks (located in the Stover Campus Center) to offer freshly brewed Starbucks coffee, hot/cold espresso drinks, Tazo Teas, Island Oasis Smoothies, freshly baked pastries, deli sandwiches and salad items!

Renovations within the existing Beehive venue will include a new made-to-order technology system, providing the latest in self-order kiosks for pizza and a variety of menu items from the grill.  The new kiosks will help to eliminate lines during the lunch rush and empower students to order and pay their way.  According to Greg Lepore, Aladdin client partnership director, “Our goal is for students, faculty and staff to be able to place their orders faster, get the food they want and have it as fresh as possible.”

Aladdin will also debut the school’s first 24-7mini convenience store.  Adjacent to the new Starbucks, the new market will be accessible via a secured magnetic card system.  The market will offer pre-packaged foods to go such as deli sandwiches, salads and fruits – all prepared fresh and delivered to the store daily from the main dining hall.  Other popular selections such as healthy snacks, candy, beverages and health and beauty supplies, among other items, will also be sold.  Not only will the new Beehive area be a convenient dining destination, it will promote a safer shopping environment for students, as they won’t need to leave campus for essentials or a quick bite to eat on-the-go.   Students can use their flex dollars or credit.

A future Chick-fil-A is also planned for campus and will be accessible to the general public so that anyone from the greater Waynesburg community can enjoy the popular brand.

“We look forward to our renewed dining relationship with Waynesburg University and partnering with them to create exciting campus destinations,” says Lepore.
