Just in time for back to school, Aladdin’s new Mobile Mart made its debut this week at Ave Maria University in Florida offering students a value-added dining option! The school’s dining partner since 2008, Aladdin purchased and designed the new mobile mart, called the “M2” for the university where the goal is to provide convenience and increase meal plan participation. Students can use their meal plan exchange or flex dollars at the M2, which also acts as a rolling convenience store!
The small but mighty M2 is wrapped with signage for the school’s mascot “Gyrenes” – which serves as a symbol of bravery. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the M2 currently resides on a campus main walkway that connects student housing with the academic buildings. “M2 is positioned on this high-foot traffic area, which is convenient for students who on their way to and from classes can purchase something quick to eat, drink, or just a snack,” says Aladdin Regional Operations Manager Rami Golden.
With two refrigerators, two hot boxes (which keep food at an optimal temperature), and three coffee air pots, the M2 provides several food options. For breakfast, students can purchase hot coffee, bagels, and Danish; for lunch and dinner, a rotating menu features house-made cold and hot grab-and-go sandwiches, freshly pre-made salads, or an extension of food specials that are offered in the café.
The M2 is also available for concessions during sports and special events, and available to book for other catered functions for daytime and evenings. “M2 lights up, creating a destination dining experience for nighttime activities,” adds Golden.
Operated by Kathleen Nuttle (pictured), the M2 also accepts cash and credit, so faculty, parents, and other guests can purchase something quick to eat, or other convenience store-like items such as candy, chips, assorted beverages, and other packaged snacks.
