“Based on student body feedback, Aladdin was chosen for its high-quality food, hospitality, and trending brands that support cultural foods and healthier eating,” said President Dan Shipp. “We’re looking forward to the partnership!”
Aladdin Campus Dining is partnering with Pittsburg State University to provide new food service management at locations across campus for students, staff, faculty, and visitors starting in July.
Tarynn Brenner, outgoing president of the Student Government Association, said students are excited about the fresh dining options and experiences Aladdin will bring to campus.
Brenner, along with representatives from the Residence Hall Assembly, Gorilla Activities Board, Intercollegiate Athletics, and other departments comprised a team that met weekly through the spring semester to review proposals in a competitive bid process.
Students will have the opportunity to select healthy choice menu options and learn about nutrition and wellness through the company’s BeWell platform. And, they’ll be able to take advantage of Fueled, a sports nutrition program developed by Aladdin’s team of registered dietitians, that offers optimal nutrition for peak performance and education tools for athletes and active individuals.
Aladdin will also bring Chilaca, a fast-casual Mexican brand that serves tacos, burritos, and bowls topped with a choice of fresh proteins and vegetables; and Sub Stand — a build-your-own sub and salad brand.
