TV personality Terrence J partners with Aladdin Campus Dining to support healthy dining at HBCU campuses

Terrence JMarch 2, 2021 – Actor and film producer, Terrence Jenkins, better known as Terrence J, announced today a new commitment to raising awareness of healthy eating habits within the Historical Black College and University (HBCU) communities. Jenkins – who has been the National Ambassador of The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) – announces a partnership with Aladdin Campus Dining, a leader in student-inspired foodservice programs in colleges and universities across the country. Together, Terrence J and the Aladdin Campus Dining team will support and promote healthy eating programs and initiatives throughout the HBCUs all year.

“Developing healthy eating habits has been one of the biggest struggles I’ve faced as an adult. With some better advice and also access to healthier food in college, I don’t think I would have had to work so hard to maintain my health,” comments Terrence J. “I’m thrilled that my work as an ambassador for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund has led me next to Aladdin Campus Dining and presented this fantastic opportunity to reach the HBCU community about vital health issues.”

With the knowledge of statistics that show that African Americans are twice as likely to die from diabetes, Aladdin chefs and dieticians work continuously to create dining programs for students that are culturally relevant and comforting without sacrificing the best possible nutrition, balance and flavor. BeWell, a proprietary wellness platform, is incorporated into every menu, making healthy options always available and always delicious. These customized programs are available at Aladdin’s HBCU partner schools, including: Albany State University (GA); Savannah State University (GA); Bowie State University (MD); Clinton College (SC); Morris College (SC); Jarvis Christian College (TX); Saint Augustine’s University (NC); Voorhees College (SC); and Paul Quinn College (TX).

Trenna Grice, senior director of business development for Aladdin Campus Dining comments, “Working with Terrence J is an incredible opportunity for Aladdin to help make a stronger connection with students on our message of healthy eating and to amplify the hard work of the extraordinary culinary and dining team at Aladdin. I think his presence will really make an impact and change some lives.”

The Aladdin Campus Dining team is in touch with the cultural experience that they need to bring to students’ plates every day. They serve a multitude of campuses nationwide and help build strong campus communities through food. Every dining program at each campus is inspired by the students, influenced by the local community and crafted by chefs to promote connection, engagement and wellness.
