Urbana, OH (May 17, 2017) Urbana University announces Aladdin as their new partner for all dining needs on campus beginning August 1, 2017. The Urbana-Aladdin collaboration will begin with the renovation of The Dining Commons, with additional improvements being made at the White Family Grill, where students and visitors will now enjoy Starbucks products.
Aladdin was invited to present to a committee comprised of faculty, staff and students as part of Urbana’s recent foodservice provider search. Aladdin is committed to serving freshly prepared meals and using high-quality locally-sourced foods. Students are excited about the healthy options presented by Aladdin, including gluten-free options and allergy-friendly meals. Integrated technology will be available to provide students with nutritional information and help them make healthy meal selections.
New meal plans will be available for traditional and non-traditional students, including The Commuter Lite plan, available to all commuter students, encouraging them to connect on campus and become part of the Urbana culture. A modest 4% increase to board rates has been incorporated to support multiple enhancements to the dining program and facilities. Urbana’s tuition and room rates for the 2017-18 academic year did not increase.

Program highlights include access to our Starchef nutrition program, diverse menu offerings and renovations to the White Family Grill and The Dining Commons. The renovation, scheduled for completion by the end of summer, will allow students to celebrate with a ribbon-cutting ceremony upon their return. With extended hours planned, the dining commons will offer an additional space on campus for studying, food, fun and fellowship for the entire campus community.
